Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (HSJD)
Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (HSJD) belongs to the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God. It is a private non-profit institution, with a vocation for public service since its creation in 1867. It has been dedicated to the comprehensive care of women, children and adolescents, and has become one of the most important specialised paediatric hospitals in Europe.
The Palliative Care and Complex Chronic Patient Unit funded in 1991 (the first one established in Spain) offers care to children and young people with complex illness and emotional support to their family caregivers based on the multidisciplinary work of HSJD professionals.
Fundació Sant Joan de Déu (FSJD-CERCA) is a private non-profit research organization founded in 2002. Its mission is to contribute to the improvement of the health and wellbeing of people by fostering, supporting and managing the research and innovation activities of HSJD) and other linked organisations. Through FSJD-CERCA, HSJD conducts research to find new and better treatments for paediatric diseases.
The role
HSJD/FSJD-CERCA will be responsible for the overall coordination, administration and organisation of the project, guaranteeing that tasks, resources and budget are managed adequately to achieve the project objectives. HSJD/FSJD-CERCA will also participate in different tasks in all WPs, including: – development of the Early Detection System (EDS) and its clinical validation; – co-creation process for development of PALLIAKID Needs Assessment and Advanced Care Planning (ACP) tools and digital platform; – design of the protocol, patient recruitment and implementation of the Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) study; – support in policy recommendations, communication and dissemination; – support in Data and Ethics management.
