Trinity College Dublin

Professor Charles Normand

Professor Charles Normand is an economist. He is Professor of Health Policy and Management at Trinity College Dublin and Professor of the Economics of Palliative Care and Rehabilitation at the Cicely Saunders Institute at King’s College London. He has worked for nearly 40 years on economic aspects of health, focussing recently on ageing on palliative and end of life care. He has published over 200 journal articles and is a co-author on a bestselling textbook on health economics. His recent studies have focussed on the effects of palliative care interventions on patterns and trajectories of care, and on measuring benefits in palliative care. His role on DIAdIC is on the costs and outcomes for patients and families.
