Meet the UnitBv Team
The UnitBv team has the following responsibilites in the NursEduPal@Euro project
- Co-lead in Intellectual Output 0
- Lead in Intellectual Outputs 6 and 7;
- Input and feedback to all other Intellectual Outputs
Using problem-based learning and case studies (vignettes), the team in UnitBv will develop, run, get feed-back, on several potential clinical situations that will most probably be encountered by the future nurses practicing their profession, no matter what clinical environment, when confronted with caring for patients and families affected by a chronic progressive disease or an end-of-life situation crisis.
UnitBv, the lead partner of this intellectual output, will promote clinical reasoning and ethical deliberation teaching methods as profound and innovative teaching tools that will enable future nurses to effectively cope and respond in urgent or/ and stressful situations that impose decision making – one of the core professional competencies of nurses with an undergraduate level of education in PC.
The leading organization for this output is UnitBv, given its leading initiative for promoting PC and developing of the general framework for PC curriculum at specialized level of education by running the Master Program in PC, and its internationally recognized experts in the field of PC. The participating organizations were chosen based on their prior experience in developing and organizing PC courses at local or national levels in their countries. UnitBv will run a scan of literature in regard to relevant matrix formats for education in general and nursing in particular. A summary of those documents will be produced and presented to the partners in the project for analysis and feed-back for the specific particularities of the PC nursing educational matrix that need to be included.
After the consensus in regard to the format of the “European Matrix for education in palliative nursing”, UnitBv will complete the matrix by correlating each professional competency to the specific innovative teaching methods produced. That will ensure the highest potential of knowledge, skills and attitudes in PC to be acquired by the nursing students. The “European Matrix for education in palliative nursing” will include details for educators on how to implement the teaching methods and on how to evaluate the acquiring of specific competences.
