In the Radboudumc Department of Primary and Community Care, care for older people and long-term care is one of the research themes. The Department is home to the UKON regional academic network for long-term care. Nijmegen is the oldest city of the Netherlands, back in Roman times, situated in the east of the country very close to the border with Germany, yet still within reach of Schiphol and the urbanized west by efficient train connections taking 1.5 hours)
