Masaryk University (MUNI) is the second largest university in the Czech Republic, based in Brno. The research team originates from the Health Economics, Policy and Innovation Institute (HEPII) and the Centre for Research on Ageing (CERA) at MUNI. HEPII is a research centre in health economics and policy, which brings together experts from disciplines such as economics, medicine, sociology, public health, and biomedical technology to address complex societal challenges. The Institute focuses on topics that include ageing populations, rising healthcare costs, and emerging treatments and aims to be a leading centre for health economics, health policy and innovation in Central Europe. CERA is a working group in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Science, whose members conduct research on age and ageing. CERA members participate in research projects supported by national and international institutions and provide consultations to state institutions and non-profit organisations. CERA provides expertise in the fields of social, cultural, and environmental gerontology and uses both qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches.
